Bad credit or no credit, there are Canadian programs that will take you without a hard credit check. Pick one below and get going.
Same truck. Same 5-year loan. Different credit score.
Illustration only, based on a $25,000 loan over 60 months. Your actual rate depends on the lender and your credit profile. This is not an offer of credit.
Four Canadian programs. All of them report your payments to a credit bureau, which is how a credit history gets built.
The easiest way in. KOHO states there's no application and approval is guaranteed.
From about $10/month. Paid plans (Extra $12/mo, Everything $14.75/mo) include 30–50% off the credit building fee.
Start with KOHO →If you need an actual card for a deposit, a booking, or buying online.
$0 annual fee on the card. The Build membership ($7.99/month, free if you keep $5,000 across Neo accounts) is what turns on the credit-building features for the secured card.
Check If I'm Pre-Approved →If you want structure and savings in your pocket at the end of it.
About $74 every two weeks (Gold) or $37 (Basic). Spring confirms your exact payment before you enroll. Available in Manitoba and Ontario.
See The Foundation →If you don't know your number yet. Costs nothing and takes 3 minutes.
$0. Free, permanently.
Check My Score Free →No trick to it. One small account, reporting every month.
Don't miss a payment. A missed payment pulls your score down the same way an on-time one builds it up, and some programs charge a fee on top (Spring charges $30). Only sign up for an amount you know you can cover.
Four things, all of them worth money.
No. Borrowell, KOHO and Neo's pre-approval check all use soft checks, which don't affect your score. If you go on to apply for an actual credit card, that may involve a hard check. The company tells you before that happens.
We can't promise it will. Credit scores are calculated by the bureaus using a lot of factors, and results are different for everybody. On-time payments reported over several months are the biggest thing in your control. Most people should expect this to take 6 to 12 months.
Not if it's accurate. Be careful with anyone who charges you money and says they can. If information on your report is wrong, you can dispute it yourself, directly with Equifax or TransUnion, for free.
No. This page is free and we never charge you a cent. Some of the programs charge their own monthly fee, which is paid to them, not to us.
No. This has nothing to do with your vehicle, your repair, or your bill. Using it has zero effect on your pricing or service with us, and neither does ignoring it.
The links on this page are referral links. If you sign up with one of these companies through our link, they may pay us a commission. It doesn't change your price and it doesn't affect your chances of approval. Commission amounts differ between these companies. We ordered this list by what's easiest to get started with rather than by what pays us most, and one of the four is free.
Most people put this off for years. It takes about three minutes.
